Online Poker Giant Changes Up Strategy, Offering Up New Live Online Cash Game Series Instead of Traditional Online Poker Tournament Series
As part of a move to change up its online poker strategy in the hopes of recapturing its once-dominant online poker market position, PartyPoker has announced the start of a new online cash game series called the PartyPoker Online Cash Game Championship (OCGC).
Kicked off earlier this week, the OCGC is made up of seven progressive levels of cash game poker, giving the site’s biggest cash game winners a share of a $250,000 prize pool as well as a seat at an exclusive final table on May 7. Called "the world's first Online Cash Game Championships," the new series is unlike other poker tournaments series — not a standard multi-table tournament but an evenly available cash game series for players of all levels.
"Anyone can claim the crown — you don't have to be a regular at the high-stakes tables,” states the PartyPoker website. “It's a long, hard road to victory with $250,000, waiting to be won, the tables are sure to be packed this April. But, when the dust has settled, only the most skillful cash players will take the plaudits."
