Cool Hand Poker Offers $10,000 My Poker Challenge Promotion in October, by Brett Collson - Poker News Daily - 1st October 2009

Cool Hand Poker, an online poker site that appeals to the laid-back poker player, is offering a unique promotion for its members in October. The site’s method is to provide novice players with a fun and relaxing poker playing experience, but also give frequent customers cash prizes this month.

Cool Hand Poker’s main promotion in October is the My Poker Challenge, in which players will earn Cool Points based on their volume of play. Points will be awarded for each raked hand on various tables, which can then be used for tournament buy-ins. A maximum of 1,000 points can be earned each day, but if players end up with a positive balance on their cash game play, they will receive an additional 10% in points. The bonus points will be awarded to all players who earn a profit during the day.

Players who earn the maximum number of points every day, along with the additional 10% for ending up with a positive balance, will win $10,000. Everyone who takes part in the promotion will earn some type of cash prize. A $10,000 prize will be in the offing for players generating 37,400 points. A $1,250 cash prize will be awarded to players with 32,000 points. A $1,100 prize will be given to players with 31,000 points. Other prizes include $1,000 (29,000 points), $900 (26,800 points), $800 (24,800 points), $700 (22,700 points), $600 (20,600 points), and $500 (18,600 points).

On Mondays during the month of October, Cool Hand Poker will reward players with double points for playing on any of the site’s cash game tables. All points will go toward the My Poker Challenge promotion. Points are earned at the following rates:

Fixed Limit:

Cool Hand Poker is also adding Survivor tournaments to its daily schedule in October. These tournaments are rare in that players are eliminated if they have the lowest chip count at the end of each level. This new and entertaining poker format can be found at various times during the day. At 9:45 BST, check out a $50 freeroll on the virtual felts of Cool Hand Poker. If you’re not busy, be sure to take advantage of a €5 + €0.50 buy-in Survivor tournament at 16:30 BST. At 18:30 BST, try your hand at the Survivor format by playing in a $10 prize pool practice freeroll. Finally, a €10 + €1 buy-in tournament is held daily at 20:30 BST.

Cool Hand Poker makes its home on the Microgaming Network, the ninth largest worldwide boasting a seven-day running average of 1,840 real money ring game players according to the traffic ranking site PokerScout.com. During its peak hours, which occur in the evening throughout Europe, nearly 3,700 players can be found perusing the Microgaming Network’s cash game felts.
