Los Angeles, CA September 25, 2009 -- On the heels of one of the most successful US poker tournaments hosted by Commerce Casino executive John Griffo and celebrity tournament director Matt Savage, Commerce Casino presents the Annie Duke Celebrity Poker Night (CPN) benefiting The Decision Education Foundation (DEF), sponsored by Sports Legends Challenge, WSOP Academy, and presented by Rockwell Time. The event will take place on Thursday, November 19th, at 8 PM during Commerce’s L.A. Poker Open.
This event is a rare opportunity for fans to play "home style" poker with pros and celebrities, including Anthrax musician Scott Ian, Broadway actor Andrew Hill Newman, American Internet entrepreneur Jason Calacanis, film and stage actor Joshua Malina, “NUMB3RS” Kathy Najimy, “Celebrity Apprentice” star and model Brande Roderick, “Dancing With the Stars” model/actress Shannon Elizabeth, film/TV actor and director Joe Reitman, professional poker players Annie Duke, Dan Harrington, Rafe Furst, Howard “The Professor” Lederer, John “Johnny World” Hennigan, Adam “Roothlus” Levy, Joe Sebok, hockey pro-gone-poker-pro Greg “FTB” Mueller, MIT blackjack legend Andy Bloch, Dave “Hollywood” Stann, WSOP Commissioner Jeffrey Pollack, game show personality Ali Nejad, and author Michael Craig. The evening will include cocktails and silent and live auctions.
The Annie Duke DEF CPT is open to the public. Tickets are $330. Tournament re-entries and a one-time add-on are available each for $100. All proceeds benefit DEF.
More than $30,000 in prizes and giveaways will be awarded throughout the poker tournament. Sponsors will also provide more than 300 giveaways. First place prize is a 2010 Sports Legends Challenge entry. Rockwell Time will present watches to each of the top three finishers.
The red carpet walk begins at 7PM and will provide fans with photo opportunities. Later, participants will mingle, play, and celebrate in a relaxed environment. Each participant will receive a generous gift bag.
